Union's Court of First Instance involving antitrust
issues relating to WorldCom's Internet subsidiary, UUNet
Technologies, Inc.
- IBM Corp., in an action in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (Manhattan) brought by several former IBM employees alleging common law torts against the company
- the shipping firm Seariver Maritime, Inc., an
Exxon Corp. subsidiary and the owners of the former
Exxon Valdez tanker vessel, in an appeal to the United States
Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Alaska presenting
issues of federal court jurisdiction and interpretation
of the federal consent decree resolving Exxon's governmental
liability arising from the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
Anthony J. Vlatas, Esq. has practiced as an appellate
lawyer with the Washington, D.C.-based law firm Covington
& Burling before establishing his own appellate
law practice. While at Covington & Burling, Mr. Vlatas
taught the firm's class on appellate brief writing. Mr. Vlatas
has frequently served as a consultant to Covington & Burling
in appellate litigation and other matters. He further has served
as a consultant to the New York-based law firm of Fried,
Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, and to the
New Jersey-based law
firm of Lynch
& Lynch.

Texas A&M University and a B.S.E. in Operations
Research from Princeton University.
